JUDGE DOLLARD HONORED BY THE CATHOLIC LAWYER'S GUILD
Former New York Supreme Court Justice, James P. Dollard was recently honored by the Catholic Lawyer's Guild of Queens County for his many years of service on the bench in addition to his devotion to preserving the rights and protecting the welfare of the citizens of the State of New York. He received this special recognition at the Guild's Annual Dinner, held on May 25, 2010 at the Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston, New York. Additional honorees included James J. Wrynn, Superintendent of the New York State Insurance Department and Hon. Peter F. Vallone, Sr., former Speaker of the NYC Council.
During his career, Judge Dollard played a very active role in the legal community serving as president of the Queens County Bar Association; member of the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association; vice chair of the Unified Court System Employment Relations Review Board; and the chair of the Joint Bar Association Committee for the evaluation of administrative law judges for the New York City Parking Violations Bureau. Judge Dollard has written numerous articles and has presented many Continuing Legal Education courses on civil practice. His commentaries on CPLR Article 3 are published in Volume 4A of the New York Consolidated Laws Service (CLS). He has also taught at the college and graduate level as an adjunct professor and as an instructor of Civil Practice for Court Employees.
