JUDGE HOWARD R. SILVER JOINS NAM'S NEW YORK METRO PANEL
NAM is pleased to announce that Honorable Howard R. Silver, former Justice of the Supreme Court, Bronx Co., has joined NAM's panel of hearing officers.
In announcing this latest addition to NAM's panel, Roy Israel, NAM President and CEO, stated: "Having someone with Judge Silver's knowledge and experience join NAM's panel, allows NAM to continue to provide its clients with a great selection of premier mediators and arbitrators. As an elected justice of the Supreme Court for over 19 years, Judge Silver presided as a trial judge over jury and non-jury cases including, negligence, tort, medical malpractice, labor law, commercial cases and hospital hearings. While presiding at the Trial Assignment Part and the Special Trial Part, he was responsible for conferencing, mediating and settling a wide variety of cases, jury selection and case assignments to IA and Trial Parts.
Prior to his election to the Supreme Court, he served as an Acting Supreme Court Justice; Elected Judge of the Civil Court, Bronx County; Law Secretary to a Supreme Court Justice and Civil Court Judge; Deputy Fire Commissioner in charge of the Legal Division of the NYC Fire Department; Senior Law Assistant and Deputy Chief
Law Assistant for the Supreme Court, NY County; Formal Hearing Referee for the Bureau of Excise taxes in the Department of Finance; Auditor for the NYC Comptroller's Office and Accountant.
According to the 2010-2011 New York Judge Reviews and Court Directory, attorneys who have appeared before him have commented as follows: "A real gentleman", "Approachable", "Excellent", "Very keen sense of justice and fair play" and "Very good. Probably his greatest strength is his intense interest in disposing of cases."
Judge Silver is available to hear cases in the New York Metro area.
