HONORABLE JOHN P. DIBLASI AUTHORS ARTICLES ON MEDIATION FOR THE NEW YORK LAW JOURNALS “2011 HOW TO GUIDE”
NAM panel member, Hon. John P. DiBlasi, has authored 2 articles on mediation for the New York Law Journal 2011 “How To Guide: A Handy Guide For Legal Professionals To Help Them Overcome Challenges And Improve Effectiveness In Their Practice”.
Entitled “Selecting Your Mediator” and “Preparing For The Mediation”, Judge DiBlasi provides insight and first hand experiences in offering suggestions to members of the bar as to how to maximize the effectiveness and success of their mediation sessions. The articles address preparation, engagement and follow-up as a guide to the selection of your mediator, as well as suggestions for preparing a well-crafted submission that will enable the mediator to engage in a more informed and reasoned discussion of the issues at the mediation session.

Judge DiBlasi is exclusively affiliated with NAM. Since becoming a full time mediator, he has been named by the New York Law Journal Reader Rankings as one of the top two mediators in New York State in 2010 and 2011. Judge DiBlasi has mediated almost 1,500 cases and facilitated the settlement of complex commercial litigation involving contracts, employment, entertainment law, real property/land use matters and environmental litigation, in addition to the division of settlements on mass tort claims or class action suits. Prior to his affiliation with NAM, Judge DiBlasi served in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Westchester County, where he was the first Presiding Justice of the Commercial Division of the Court and creator of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program used successfully by that Court.
