HON. ELIZABETH BONINA INVITED TO SPEAK ON ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION AT THE BAY RIDGE LAWYERS ASSOCIATION
NAM panel member, Hon. Elizabeth Bonina, has been invited to speak at the Bay Ridge Lawyers Association in a program entitled “Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Practice Tips”. The NAM sponsored event will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Pearl Room, 8518 Third Avenue, Brooklyn, NY at 7:00 p.m.
The seminar will address the integral role of ADR in the resolution of matters in today’s legal landscape. It will provide attorneys with practical tips on third party arbitration and mediation, and the benefits and the efficiency of alternative dispute resolution when faced with the rising costs and uncertainty of traditional litigation.
Hon. Bonina’s presentation will address a broad array of topics concerning mediation and arbitration and will provide the litigator with an inside view of the ADR process including: preparation of the mediation brief; presence of the client at the mediation; the joint session; breakout sessions; when to use arbitration; types of claims that can benefit from arbitration and the importance of the pre-hearing arbitration brief.
For the fourth consecutive year, Judge Bonina was named a “Best Individual Arbitrator” in New York State by the 2016 New York Law Journal Reader Rankings Survey, with three of those years being voted #1. She has also been ranked one of the Top Ten Mediators in the state for the past seven years by that same survey. Judge Bonina has arbitrated and mediated a myriad of case types including employment, professional malpractice, premises liability, labor law, sports and entertainment, products liability and personal injury.
