Peter J. Merani, Esq. Hearing Officer
Following a successful career as a litigator in private practice, Peter J. Merani, Esq. has served as a full-time mediator and arbitrator, handling thousands of cases involving both simple and complex disputes between individuals and corporations, both domestically and abroad. Mr. Merani has arbitrated and mediated cases involving numerous areas of practice, including personal injury, labor law, construction, insurance and reinsurance coverage, real estate, commercial contracts, conflicts of law and admiralty, among others.
Mr. Merani is an exceptionally well-rounded and effective mediator and arbitrator who has garnered a reputation for his keen legal acumen and negotiating abilities. As a neutral, he approaches each side fairly and objectively and is able to evaluate a case, astutely assess the issues and effectively guide parties and counsel to a fair and impartial resolution. As such, he has earned the respect and confidence of both sides of the bar.
For the ninth year in a row, Mr. Merani was voted a Top Ten Mediator in New York State in the 2018 New York Law Journal Annual Reader Rankings Survey.
Mr. Merani has lectured on no-fault, uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist law and practice before various professional associations, including the Nassau Suffolk Lawyers Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), Defense Association of New York (DANY), Nassau County Bar Association, Bronx County Bar Association, Queens County Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association.
He is available to mediate and arbitrate cases throughout the New York Metro area.
