NAM neutral, Susan Hernandez, Esq., has been invited to participate in a CLE seminar entitled 10 Things Every Solo and Small Firm Practitioner Should Know About. The two-part CLE program is being presented by the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York’s Solo and Small Law Firm Practitioners Committee on October 22 and October 30, 2014. Ms. Hernandez will be presenting at the October 22nd session and will be speaking about Alternative Dispute Resolution – A Guide to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Through Arbitration and Mediation. Ms. Hernandez will be addressing topics such as: The Differences between Arbitration and Mediation, When to Arbitrate or Mediate, Types of Claims that Benefit from ADR, The Arbitration Process, The Mediation Process and Practical Tips from the Neutral’s Perspective.
Ms. Hernandez joined NAM as a full time neutral in September, 2014. She is the former Mediation Coordinator of the Mediation Pilot Program in the Supreme Court, Bronx County. As the Mediation Coordinator, she conferenced and mediated multiple cases each day and has resolved and/or disposed of well over 1,000 cases since the mediation program was implemented in 2012. Her mediation experience includes all types of cases ranging from smaller value cases to multi-million dollar disputes. In addition to personal injury cases, she has experience mediating disputes involving real property/partition, contracts, employment, discrimination, and sexual harassment matters.
