Michael B. Titowsky, Esq. is a highly experienced attorney who has represented thousands of clients in court litigation and private mediation throughout the New York Metropolitan area for more than 40 years. As both an attorney in private practice and as a hearing officer for NAM, Mr. Titowsky has successfully resolved personal injury cases, some of which resulted in catastrophic injury, including labor law, slip and fall, premises liability, and automobile accidents.

Prior to joining NAM, Mr. Titowsky was a partner in a prominent New York law firm. During his 29-year tenure with the firm, he litigated a variety of personal injury-related matters, such as high-exposure NY labor law, premises liability, motor vehicle, general liability, insurance coverage/indemnity, and medical malpractice cases from inception to trial and appeals. Mr. Titowsky’s insurance background includes declaratory judgement actions related to underlying personal injury claims, labor law, construction accidents, and premises liability. Frequently, the issue at hand was whether an insurance company for a subcontractor owed indemnity and/or a defense to an upper tier defendant, such as an owner, general contractor, or construction manager. Another common issue was whether there would be vertical or horizontal exhaustion of available insurance coverage provided by primary and excess carriers. It is Mr. Titowsky’s well-rounded skill set that makes him such an esteemed hearing officer.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Titowsky has focused on the representation of his firm’s clients in both private and court-ordered mediations. He has also served as a court-appointed mediator for personal injury and labor law cases in the New York State Supreme Court. A strong advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution, his years of mediation experience have enhanced his understanding and sensitivity to the physical and emotional hardships that present themselves in personal injury cases.
