Events | Event Date: October 24 - 25, 2024

NAM supported the AHRMNY Conference in Cooperstown, NY on October 24 and 25, 2024. Hearing Officer Bob Worden, Esq. and NAM Senior Account Executive, Kathy Castillo, attended the two-day event which featured Assembly Member John T. McDonald III as the keynote speaker. He addressed key topics related to the legislative process, the workings of the Committee on Health and the Committee on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse, and his ongoing support for healthcare and risk management-related legislation. Notably, Assembly Member McDonald discussed his sponsorship of a bill to amend Siegel v. Snyder, which would explicitly protect the confidentiality of statements made during QA proceedings, even if the speaker is unknown.
The conference also included several informative breakout sessions presented by professionals in the industry covering a range of topics, such as Data in Safety and Risk Management, Root Cause Analysis in Health Equity Outcomes, Peer Support, New York's Liability Environment, Contracts in Risk Management, Economic Damages in Catastrophic Injury Cases, Best Tools for RCA, ACA, or FMEA, and a Cyber Security Panel. The event concluded with a plenary session discussing OB challenges in rural New York, offering a valuable look into the unique obstacles faced in these regions.
