New York, NY (May 9, 2019) – NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to announce that NAM neutral, David S. Feather, Esq., has been invited to speak on employment law at the American Bar Association (ABA) 12th Annual Arbitration Training Institute, A Comprehensive Training in Advanced Arbitration Skills. The program will be held at Pepper Hamilton LLP, Philadelphia, PA on May 16-17, 2019.

More than one hundred arbitrators, in-house counsel and legal professionals from across the nation are expected to attend the interactive two-day training conference. The break-out discussions will feature advanced sessions on every stage of the arbitral process examined from the vantage point of neutrals, advocates, and in-house attorneys. Additionally, participants will learn how to better utilize arbitration, gain a better understanding of recent developments and trends in arbitration and offer guidance to those planning a career move to arbitration. Small group discussions will allow participants to interact in depth with faculty and each other, offering unsurpassed opportunities to:

  • Advance skills, knowledge and practice techniques
  • Discuss current trends and practices
  • Learn tips from the arbitration professionals

As part of the conference program, Mr. Feather will participate in 75-minute continuing legal education (CLE) discussion on Employment Arbitration, as part of Concurrent Sessions on Substantive Topics which will also include Healthcare, Securities and International Arbitration.

Employers and employees face occasional workplace disputes involving alleged wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, sexual harassment, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, and disability. In an open discussion, Mr. Feather will share his deep experience and knowledge about best practices and tips for arbitrators, the most current laws concerning arbitration clauses and how these laws affect the employer/employee relationship and how arbitration offers a fair, timely and cost-efficient forum enabling both employers and employees an effective way to resolve employment disputes. The CLE will be held on Friday, May 17th from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Mr. Feather will be joined by Jonathan D. Wetchler, Esq., partner and employment lawyer at Duane Morris LLP.

Mr. Feather has dedicated his career to the practice of labor and employment law. He has represented both employees and employers/management in the State and Federal Courts, and regularly appears before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Nassau County Commission on Human Rights. Mr. Feather has represented unions and union members in grievances and arbitrations pursuant to collective bargaining agreements, and has negotiated, drafted, litigated and mediated employment contracts, severance agreements and non-compete agreements on behalf of both employers and employees.
