Join NAM Hearing Officers, the Hon. David Elliot (Ret.) and the Hon. Jeremy S. Weinstein (Ret.), as they present a CLE webinar on best practices in arbitration and mediation to the Queens County Bar Association.
Judge Elliot and Judge Weinstein, both former Queens County Supreme Court Justices, will provide their perspectives on the use of arbitration and mediation to resolve cases. They will also provide useful tips and techniques to aid in the resolution of disputes, as well as guidance on document submissions, witnesses, expectations, and the parties that should be present at the hearings.

Meet NAM's Presenters
The Hon. David Elliot (Ret.) is a member of NAM's (National Arbitration and Mediation) Hearing Officer Panel. Judge Elliot was first elected to the Civil Court of the City of New York. Shortly thereafter, he was elected to serve on the Supreme Court of the State of New York and was later reelected. Judge Elliot was appointed to serve concurrently as a New York Supreme Court Justice and as an Associate Justice of the Appellate Term of the Supreme Court for the Second, Eleventh, and Thirteenth Judicial Districts, hearing appeals from the Civil and Criminal Courts. Judge Elliot has been involved in all manner of negotiations, disputes, and legal proceedings. Prior to his judicial career, he was a partner with a prominent New York law firm where he handled litigation for both personal injury and commercial matters in the Civil and Supreme Courts, as well as real estate transactions. He has overseen countless jury and non-jury trials and has presided over thousands of cases in the Trial Scheduling Part (T.S.P.), which included numerous settlement conferences. Judge Elliot is known for his ability to clearly identify the problem at hand and move cases toward an efficient and equitable resolution. He is available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout New York State.

The Hon. Jeremy S. Weinstein (Ret.) is a member of NAM's (National Arbitration and Mediation) Hearing Officer Panel. After an illustrious and longstanding legal career in public life as a New York State Senator, a Supreme Court Justice, and as an Administrative Judge for Queens County, New York, the Honorable Jeremy S. Weinstein is applying his vast wealth of knowledge and experience to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as a mediator for NAM. As a Supreme Court Justice and Administrative Judge, he presided over the trial scheduling part (TSP) and conferenced more than 15,000 civil cases involving personal injury disputes as well as medical malpractice, commercial, and corporate contract matters. Judge Weinstein is a hard-working and detail-oriented jurist known for his intelligence, patience, and ability to assist in the resolution of even the most complex and contentious cases. He is available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout the New York Metro area.
